Just got a 08 Astra (opel) and the radio works but does not display properly on the screen. The screen can cycle through the range, average speed and stopwatch but won't show what stations are playing no matter what I press. The settings button and the other buttons atthe bottom of the unit dont seem to have any effect on the screen.
Don't get too confused with the layout on the Insignia's however - certainly on your Astra-J the radio 'unit' is the 'silver box'. I own a Vauxhall insignia 2.0 cdti automatic, 2015. I am having problems with my stereo screen it is not lighting up no display. Nothing showing.. just a blank back screen. My stereo is working.
