I got my 15 inch retina macbook pro brand-new less than a month ago, this last June. It is mid-2014 top-of-the-line model, A1398. Its full charge capacity started out as 89.3 Wh. Now after 5 load cycles, it takes about 86 Wh which is significantly below the proposed capacity of 95 Wh for 2014 models and 99.5 Wh for 2015 models.
I have a mid-2012 Macbook Air that has been seeing a reduction in battery life. The machine currently has a cycle count of 432 with a full charge capacity of 5272 mAh. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile for me to invest in replacing the battery. If so, should I bring it to the Genius Bar or install it myself?
The system runs fine but I use it mostly as a desktop replacement. The cycle count is 358 which is fairly low but I've read that age is a factor as is cycle count. So new battery is coming. My 2014 MacBook Pro 15 battery provides about three to four hours of battery life and the cycle count is around 550.
